4 FAMILIES OF DEAD VICTIMS RECEIVED SURVIVORS’ BENEFIT AND OTHERS

Kampong Cham—On 21 June 2018, the National Social Security Fund of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training led by Mr. Say Sothun, Kampong Cham NSSF branch director, visited and provided the funeral grant and other benefits to the family of dead victim, Thach Theana, male, worker of TELA Limited Co.LTD, had a heart attack leading to death while working.

The team went directly to provide the funeral grant and benefits to the victim’s family who resides in Angkor Ban 1 village, Angkor Ban commune, Kong Meas district, Kampong Cham province with the participation of local authorities. Besides providing the funeral grant, NSSF also grants survivors’ benefit to parents who are the dependent of victim and aged from 55 up in the event that victim is single.

By the semester 1 in 2018, the Kampong Cham NSSF branch provided the funeral grant and survivors’ benefit to 4 families of dead victims comprising:

1. Victim, Heang Savai, female, worker in Valong Industrial factory, lived in Kork Roveang village, Khnul Dambang commune, Choeung Prey district, Kampong Cham province.
2. Victim, Chhon Phearak, male, worker in Viettel (Cambodia) Pte.Ltd, lived in Ampil Loeu village, Ampil commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham.
3. Victim, Chhun Dyna, male, worker in Chamroeurn Micro-Finance Enterprise, lived Takhung village, Trean commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham.
4. Victim, Thach Theana, worker in Kampuchea Tela Co.Ltd, lived in Angkor Ban 1 village, Angkor Ban commune, Kong Meas district, Kampong Cham.

Currently, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has launched two schemes, Occupational Risk and Health Care, and registered 11,952 enterprises/establishments with 1,461,182 workers.

With the high attention of the Royal Government under the leadership of wisdom of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, through the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training whose NSSF is an operator, in 2019 the social security scheme on Pension will be launched with the aim of allowing all workers to receive pensions after they qualify all conditions.
