Phnom Penh—H.E. OUK Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Member of the National Road Traffic Safety Committee (NRTSC), and Chief of the Road Traffic Safety Team for Workers Prevention (RTSTWP), said that COVID-19 is the challenge that we must work together to contain; at the same time, the traffic accident is an important challenge that all relevant institutions must participate and work together with high responsibilities as well as promote the training and dissemination on the Road Traffic Law to the citizens, especially for worker-transporting drivers and workers, in order to enable them to raise more awareness of the Road Traffic Law and encourage them to obey the Road Traffic Law righteously with the aim of successfully implementing the reduction of road traffic accidents inflicting on workers at the lowest level.
He raised the above speech on the occasion that he presided over the meeting to review the 2021 Annual Achievements and 2022 Action Plans of the Road Traffic Safety Team for Worker Prevention (RTSTWP) of NSSF, which held on the Friday morning of 24 December 2021 at the Grand Meeting Room of the NSSF Headquarter, Phnom Penh, with the participation of Vice-Chief and members of the RTSTWP team amounted to approximately 20 participants.
He also appealed all worker-transporting drivers and workers to obey the Road Traffic Law accordingly and understand mutually and tolerant while traveling on the road; especially, worker-transporting drivers must not overload workers in order to protect themselves’ and passengers’ lives.
However, he added that although the February 20 community event has been completely ended, COVID-19 is still a facing challenge that we must continue to comply most strictly with the COVID-19 preventive measures of the 3 Dos and 3 Don’ts issued by the Royal Government of Cambodia in a bid to contribute to containing the spread of COVID-19 in Cambodia.
Meanwhile, he expressed his deep gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia under the wise leadership and wisdom of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for striving to seek vaccines with the use of glooming strategy with a view to vaccinating the citizen in the country with timely manner for the sake of social welfare.
