Phnom Penh—In the Friday morning of 07 February 2020, H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of NSSF of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, had a cardinal meeting with Mrs. Myca Magnolia M. FISCHER, Charge D’Affaires of Embassy of the Republic of the Philippine in Cambodia, on the Implementation of Social Security Schemes in the Kingdom of Cambodia. This meeting was held at the NSSF headquarter, Phnom Penh.
On such occasion, H.E. Delegate of the Royal Government expressed his thanks to the Philippine Government as well as its citizens for always supporting Cambodia, especially for bilateral cooperation in the social security sector. His Excellency briefed the current implementation of social security schemes in Cambodia that NSSF has currently implemented social security scheme on Occupational Risk for private sector in the late of 2008 and Health Care for private sector in 2016 as well as for public employees (civil servant) in 2018, whereas Pension Scheme for private sector will be launched in the future.
At the same time, Mrs. Charge D’Affaires of the Republic of the Philippine Embassy has raised the good cooperation between both governments in all sectors including social security cooperation. So far, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) had sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Twin Partnership on 10 September 2018.
She also added that she will accelerate relevant institution/organization related to social security in Philippine in order to strengthen and expanding the cooperation of social security schemes with NSSF, especially for social security scheme on pension related to portability of social security for migrant workers between Cambodia and Philippine.
