Phnom Penh — On the afternoon of 3 March 2022, H.E. HENG Sophannarith, Deputy Director General of NSSF and the representative of H.E. OUK Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), discussed with the representatives of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) on “The Feasibility Study of Further Cooperation” via video conferencing.
Through this meeting, His Excellency Deputy Director General expressed his pleasure and interests in the cooperation with AFD on the development of the NSSF services to its members with the purpose of sustainable social security through the provision of various assistance and the expansion of social security coverage to other sectors, including the self-employed, construction sector, and agricultural sector.
Be reminded that the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) of Cambodia had also provided financial assistance through the Group for Research and Technology Exchanges (GRET) to NSSF in implementing the pilot project of “Social Protection: Innovations for Informal Sector (SPIN Project)” such as (1) Call Center Development, (2) Web Application Development for Registration and Contribution Payment of the Informal Workers (Tuk-Tuk Drivers and Domestic workers), (3) Financial Assessment, and (4) Communication Strategy for SPIN project.
