Phnom Penh — On the morning of 18 March 2022, H.E. HENG Sophannarith, the NSSF Deputy Director General and Head of the Working Group on Legal Affairs of NSSF, led the group to participate in a meeting on “The Draft Law on Social Protection System” at the Grand Meeting Room of the NSSF Headquarter, which was presided over by H.E. SUM Sophorn, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The draft Law on Social Protection System states that this Law covers Cambodian citizens and the residents who serve or run businesses in the Kingdom of Cambodia and aims to establish the social protection system with inclusiveness, effectiveness, sustainability, and progress in ensuring welfare, reducing economic and financial vulnerabilities, enhancing people’s income security, and promoting social equality.
The above meeting was organized by the Executive Committee of the National Social Protection Council, which was chaired by H.E. ROS Seilava, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Social Protection Council, with the presence of His/Her Excellency Vice-Chairmen of the Executive Committee and relevant ministries and institutions, amounted to approximately 50 participants.
