Phnom Penh – “The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has contributed to providing the social protection throughout the life cycle to its members starting from birth, adult, old age, and until death through benefit provision of Occupational Risk, Health Care, Pension, and Unemployment Schemes.” said by His Excellency HENG Sophannarith, Deputy Director General of NSSF and Representative of His Excellency OUK Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of NSSF, who was invited as speaker in the first-day panel discussion on “Advancing Social Protection and Extending Social Protection for All” in the First-Ever Social Protection Week under the theme of “Social Protection Throughout the Life Cycle”.
His Excellency Deputy Director General added that NSSF has currently expanded its coverage to:
1. Persons under public sector (civil servants in civil service, civil servants of legislative group, civil servants of judicial institution, national police officers, prison wardens, officials of National Election Committee, civil servants of National Audit Authority, formers civil servants and veterans, and contract officials recognized by Ministry of Civil Service);
2. Persons defined by the provisions of the labour law including personnel serving in air and maritime transportation as well as domestic workers; and
3. The self-employed.
It’s certified that His Excellency Dr. AUN Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Chairman of the National Social Protection Council, presided over the above discussion forum organized on 15 February 2022 by the General Secretariat for the National Social Protection Council, with the presence of all relevant ministries and institutions and representatives of national and international organizations at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh Hotel.
