Phnom Penh — On Friday morning, 18 February 2022, after having authorized by His Excellency OUK Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), His Excellency HENG Sophannarith, Deputy Director General of NSSF, participated in the interview with Dr. David Collins, Financial Consultant of the United National Development Program (UNDP) in Cambodia, on “Feasibility Study on Free Medical Care Services Provision to Old-Age People in Cambodia” at the GB Room of the NSSF headquarter, Phnom Penh.
Within the extended interview, His Excellency Deputy Director General provided key inputs related to the social protection in Cambodia, especially the social security schemes that NSSF is currently providing to more than 2 million members.
Nowadays, UNDP is collaborating with relevant ministries, institutions, and agencies in Cambodia to establish the joint cooperation with the aim of reviewing the National Ageing Policy 2017-2030, analysing the old-age health problems, and conducting the feasibility study and costing options for expanding free medical care services to the old-age people.
