Svay Rieng—On 31 July 2019, H.E. Dr. Chey Sun and H.E. Dr. Kim Thea, Members of Parliament in Svay Rieng province, Delegates of Provincial Governor, and NSSF team paid a visit to the NSSF member faced traffic accident in the two days continually at Svay Rieng and Chi Phu referral hospitals and directed to the house of bereaved family.
On this sorrowful moment, H.E. Dr. Chey Sun said that as a member of parliament in Svay Rieng province and all delegates of Provincial Governor would like to express our heartfelt condolence and sympathy about the traffic accident that had happened continually on the workers in these two days.
He add that under the outstanding leadership and wisdom of Samdach Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdach always pays high attentions to as welfare and livelihood of the Cambodian people as the workers who got the traffic accident.
He made an appeal to worker-transporting drivers and workers for taking more precaution while travelling on the road and obeying the Traffic Law with the aim of reducing the traffic accident at the lowest level in line with the high recommendations of Samdach Akka Moha Sena Padie Techo Hun Sen: “Today and Tomorrow, No Traffic Accident”.
At the same time, He highly appreciated all delegates of Provincial Governor, medical physicians, and NSSF team for collaborating and cooperating to save the victims punctually.
Mr. Heang Solidet, Head of NSSF Svay Rieng branch, certified that for the traffic accident happening continually on workers in Svay Rieng province within two days, there are 59 mild injuries, 15 serious injuries, and 02 deaths.
He added that every service charge including victim referral service, corpse transportation, and medical care for the victims until recovery as well as another social security benefits are borne by the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). Particularly, for the victims suffered from accident leading to the death, NSSF provides 4 million riels of funeral grant to hold the funeral and survivors’ benefit to the dependent of victim as set forth in the Law on Social Security Schemes for Persons Defined by the Provisions of the Labour Law.
He also clarified that from 01 January 2019 to 31 July 2019, there are 355 victims (178 women) sustained traffic accident in Svay Rieng province—301 mild injuries (174 women), 45 serious injuries (22 women), and 09 deaths.
