Phnom Penh—On 02 April 2019, H.E. Heng Sophannarith, Representative of H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund of the Ministry of Labour Vocational and Training, said that the focal-point training course on Road Traffic Safety prepared by Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP Foundation) and taken part by approximately 40 participants from ministries, institutions and organizations involved to be held in Sunway Hotel Phnom Penh.
He mentioned the speech of Samdach Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hunsen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, that so far, the traffic accident is a major concern has not only been causing casualties and disabilities, but also affecting the household economy and the society.
Therefore, Samdach has requested all citizens to obey the traffic laws in order to reduce and prevent the traffic accident at the lowest level.
H.E. Heng Sophannarith further added that in response to the appeal of Samdach Prime Minister, Ministry of Labour Vocational and Training established an inter-ministerial working group through Decision No. 002 LV/D, dated 25 January 2013, on the Establishment of Road Traffic Safety Team for Worker Prevention (RTSTWP) in a bid to take preventive measures on the traffic accident by collaborating with the ministries, institutions, and organization involved for disseminate the road traffic law to worker-transporting drivers and workers.
This training course aims to give a chance to all focal-point trainers for raising more awareness of worker-transporting drivers in relation to the road traffic law with the aim of reducing the traffic accident at the lowest level.
