Phnom Penh—H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), said that NSSF has currently dispensed its membership cards to public employees, former civil servants, and veterans amounted to estimated 150,000 of more than 300,000.
He added that in present public employees, former civil servants, and veterans have consumed health care services in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF amounted to 258,511 cases/times by using the NSSF membership card. Also, NSSF still carries on collaborating with other ministries for handing out its cards to the ones without the NSSF membership card with the aim of accessing health care services in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF.
In relation to the distribution of the NSSF membership card, he reminded that the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has currently extended its coverage nationwide by registering 1,359 civil servants and contract officials.
In pursuance of inter-ministerial Prakas No. 291 LV/PrK, dated 25 July 2016, on Agreement on Health Service Consumption and Provision for Health Care between the National Social Security Fund and Health Facility, NSSF has signed the agreement with 1,335 health facilities (from health center to national hospital)—1,292 public health facilities and 43 private health facilities—in a bid to ease the service provision for the NSSF member punctually and effectively.
He certified that since 2008 NSSF has provided occupational risk benefits to 216,357 of 1,614,339 members who are working in 12,688 enterprises/ establishments and health care benefits amounted to 1,850,719 cases/times to 1,614,339 members who are working 10,152 enterprises/establishments.
He mentioned the above-description in the event for distributing 935 membership cards and disseminating the policy implementation of social security schemes to leaders, civil servants, and contract officials of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. This event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Ing Kuntha Phavi and joined by leaders and officials who represent their institutions and organizations of the ministry concerned amounted to approximately 300 participants to be held in the office of the ministry concerned on Tuesday morning of 08 January 2019.
