Phnom Penh—H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund, said that in semester I in 2018, public employees, former civil servants, and veterans accessed medical services of Health Care Scheme amounted to 8,727 times equal to 59,732.97 million riels.
He said in the dissemination meeting on Procedures and Formalities of Health Care Service Consumption for Civil Servants and Contract Staff of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training to be held in the grand meeting room of NSSF that this meeting focuses on procedures and formalities of accessing medical services free of charge in 1,327 public and private health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF. Furthermore, when the civil servant access medical care services in the contracted health facilities, they must go to meet the NSSF agent on standby in the health facility for facilitation or avoidance of abnormality. Alternatively, they can also inform promptly via hotline: 1286 free of charge for facilitation at any time.
It’s certified that in line with the principles of the Royal Government, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padie Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, authorized the National Social Security Fund of Ministry Labour and Vocational Training to extend the social protection system for public employees, former civil servants, and veterans to access the same medical services as workers free of charge.
Currently, the National Social Security Fund has launched social security schemes on Health Care for public employees, former civil servants, and veterans since 01 January 2018. Separately, social security schemes on Occupational Risk for public employees, former civil servants, and veterans will be launched in 2019.
