Phnom Penh—On Friday morning of 24 August 2018, Mr. Sok Bora¸ Director of Benefit Division, who represented H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund, was invited to be a presenter in the training course on Update of Social Security Schemes to be prepared by Entrepreneur Association of Cambodia and held in SUNWAY Hotel, Phnom Penh.
This training course aims to disseminate and explain about procedure of registration, procedure of benefit claim, and benefit entitlement from NSSF. It was joined by directors of institutions, administrators, and representatives of organizations and associations amounted to 54 enterprises/establishments with 67 participants.
He said that NSSF is a public administrative organization which was established with the purpose of implementing social security schemes and providing benefits to the member registered in NSSF when they encounter work injury and illness. NSSF has implemented social security schemes on Occupational Risk and Health Care, whereas Pension Scheme will be launched in 2019.
He added that when workers met work injury while working, they are entitled to receive emergency and medical care services until recovery free of charge as well as daily allowance.
Additionally, for Health Care Scheme, when the NSSF member has sickness or suffers from non-work injury, he also has entitlement to access services free of charge in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF and receive daily allowance while hospitalizing.
He also appealed all enterprises/establishments with one worker or more to register in the National Social Security Fund of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training with a view to allowing their own workers to receive medical care services in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF free of charge.
Especially, workers as the NSSF member have to remember hotline number: 1286 for contacting NSSF free of charge in order to inform NSSF only if they face work injury or any abnormal problem when they access services in the contracted health facilities.
