Thailand—On Wednesday morning of 15 August 2018, the National Social Security Fund of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, nominated Mr. Heng Sophanarith, Deputy Director of Health Insurance Division, to participate in the discussion forum on Health Financing for Migrant Workers in the Mekong river region supported by Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the aim of understanding the vision and seeking health financing mechanisms in order to ensure the migrant workers in the Mekong river region to receive the better health insurance service.
This meeting focuses on 02 main purposes as follows:
- Exchange experiences with some countries in the Mekong region such as Cambodia, Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, and China which have lots of migrant workers;
- Study and find solutions in order to cover the migrant workers with the comprehensive health care services at anywhere they work in the Mekong river region.
