Preah Sihanouk—On Tuesday of 10 July 2018, Road Traffic Safety Team for Worker Prevention of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) offered the driving training course to raise more awareness of the traffic law and allowed the worker-transporting drivers not having driving licence and appropriate driving licence with category of vehicles to take the driving examination in the Sihanouk Special Economic Zone amounted to 45 participants.
This meeting aims to allow the worker-transporting drivers to raise more awareness of the traffic law, ease them to take the driving examination by category of vehicles, and motivate them to obey the traffic law strictly in a bid to reduce the traffic accident at the lowest level.
Road Traffic Safety Team for Worker Prevention (RTSTWP) appealed all worker-transporting drivers to register the driving test to take the driving licence by category of vehicles as set forth in the law.
So far, RTSTWP collaborated with the factory administrations in the Special Economic Zone in Preah Sihanouk province to gather all worker-transporting drivers to take the driving examination amounted to 330 candidates—37 did not have driving licence and 170 held driving licence unsuitable with category of vehicles.
RTSTWP also appealed all worker-transporting drivers to:
- Obey the traffic law rigorously.
- Not overload workers.
- Check the truck before go to take workers.
- Inspect the truck regularly.
- Have driving licence by category of vehicles.
- Attend the training course of the NSSF team on Traffic Law.
- Adhere to 10 moralities of the National Road Traffic Safety Committee.
